Good Shepherd Montessori School

Why Choose Good Shepherd Montessori School?

Our goal at Good Shepherd is to inspire a lifelong love of learning.  Our culture is based on mutual respect, understanding, and a collaborative partnership with parents, students, and faculty.

We work to educate the whole child – academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We celebrate the uniqueness of each child and respect each child’s individual interests and learning style.  As a cornerstone of Montessori education, we use an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to learning.

Our students learn the art of critical thinking, researching, self-expression, and practical problem solving. Our classroom environment fosters independent thought as well as collaborative efforts. Children learn to work alongside one another; they take individual responsibility for their work, yet also flourish in an environment where older children often “teach” the younger children a new skill or concept. Artificial competition for grades is eliminated, since each child works at his/her own level, and is compared only to the goals set by the classroom teacher and himself/herself.

This provides our students with a sense of the school as a community and distinguishes Good Shepherd from other schools in our area.
