Good Shepherd Montessori School

The Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in Good Shepherd Montessori School. We have outlined a checklist of the Admission Process for you in the hope that it will provide you with helpful information as you explore your child’s educational opportunities.

One on One School Tour or Open House

We host two Open Houses a year; one in November and one in early February. These Open Houses serve as good opportunities to meet our faculty, see the classrooms, and begin exploring the Montessori method of education.

If you have already attended an Open House, please schedule a private tour with the Head of School – it’s the best way to see the school while in session and allow us to learn about your child and answer any more specific questions you may have. Tours are given Wednesday and Thursday mornings by appointment, and generally begin around 9:30 am. To schedule a tour, please contact the school office at (574) 288-0098.

If you have already visited Good Shepherd and have decided that you would like to apply for admission, please download and complete the Admission Application Form. We ask that you return your Admissions Forms to the school with the non-refundable $100.00 application fee by March 27, 2017 for enrollment in the 2017-2018 school year.

Good Shepherd will contact you to schedule an assessment for your child once all forms are received. Please note that all new students must be assessed prior to acceptance.

Financial Aid

If applying for financial aid, please complete the online FACTS application at between November 1, 2016 and March 1, 2017 for the 2017-2018 Academic Year.  FACTS Management charges an application fee of $30.00.  Application for Enrollment with $100.00 non-refundable enrollment fee must be received before financial aid applications can be processed.  Tuition assistance will be considered and awarded for students in grades 1-8 based upon financial need and available funds.

Once the admissions forms and student assessment are complete, we will contact you regarding acceptance.

Please note that the admission policy of Good Shepherd Montessori School is to consider students who have applied for admission by March 27 with priority given to those with Montessori experience. In order to serve our children by creating and maintaining an authentic Montessori environment, we reserve the right to build classroom environments that are balanced according to age, sex, special needs, and – especially given our commitment to the underserved – socio-economic and racial diversity. This means we do not keep a chronological waiting list or use a first-come, first-serve basis. Instead, we consider the whole pool of applicants.

Good Shepherd Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity or national origin.
